West Region SLC

Our seats. Felt like we were analyzing the game or in the blimp. Either way it was sweet.

You can just feel the electricity thats in the building.

Oh yeah. . . . Did I mention we were at the games? Sick!!

Butler's Getting Greedy

They are undersized. They don’t score. They are unathletic. And they’re going to the Final Four.

Butler has a 24 game winning streak. They are the Horizon League Champion. They have the Horizon Player of the Year in Gordon Hayward. They have beat the number one and two seed in their bracket. And not only are they hosting the Final Four but they will be playing just 5.5 miles from Hinkle Fieldhouse.

But a five seed has NEVER won the tournament. The last team to win the National Title in their home state, let alone their home city was UCLA. And that was just their 7th of 8 consecutive titles. The last time a mid major even made the Championship game was in 1979 with a guy made Larry Bird. You may have heard of him.

The odds are most definitely stacked against this team. But as we saw today, this team is greedy. They had to use both hoops to get enough net to satisfy the needs of the Bulldogs. So as they may not have what it takes to win, they may win it all.

Michael Jordan Crawford

The Energy Solutions Arena, formally known as the Delta Center, has seen some big shots in big games. Michael Jordan over Brian Russell and now Jordan Crawford over Curtis Kelly.

But which shot is better and bigger?

Easy answer… wrong. It was Jordan Crawford’s shot.

First of all I’m still bitter at MJ from taking at least 3 championships from Stockton and Malone. Two of the best players of all time are not thought as some of the all time greats. They are the Jim Kelly of the NBA.

Second it was a push off.

Third, it’s Michael Jordan. You expect him to make that shot. At that point of his career he was considered one of the greatest players to ever live and it wasn’t like his legacy was on the line. It’s like Betty Crocker making a bad soup; you may have a rough night but you’re gonna go back for seconds the next day.

Okay, I’ll admit it was a decent shot.

But Crawford hit the shot in Overtime. But he was down 3 points. But it was from about 40 feet away. But if he missed they would have lost. But it was a career high. But he’s a sophomore in college.

Jordan Crawford dunked on Lebron over the summer but this highlight actually counts.

Madness

Let the madness begin.

We are less than 24 hours away from the opening round of the NCAA tournament and there is more anticipation than the first Bingo Call in Boca Raton on a Friday night (4pm).

This year is unlike any other year, that statement is thrown around every year, but it is true. All 4 number ones have a shot at winning it all. It has been 3 consecutive years with a 1 seed winning it all and the top seeds are looking to make it a quad. But like every march Cinderella is just around the corner looking to make an appearance. With a weak at large field in play Cinderella might be having an early night.

There are some great early round matchups that should be fun to watch.

Cornell vs. Temple in the opening round will feel more like an Elite 8 game. Clemson and their press vs. Mizzou and their ‘Forty Minutes of Hell’ should be a game where line changes will be plentiful. And many, many more.

But the real question is who is gonna win it all?

Watch out for Cornell or Temple, whoever wins that game to make a run. New Mexico is getting no love although they won the regular and post season MWC titles, they could make a run. Evan Turner had a broken back but could break some hearts this march as well. Boehiem’s 2-3 can slow down even the best, so don’t sleep on them. And Calipari and his All-Star All-Freshman team has zero experience but talent galore.

(Kansas over West Virginia, with Kansas St and Duke rounding out the final four)

C'MON

He recently gave out a reporter’s phone number out over twitter over a story about his numerous suspensions, fines and rehab assignments.

He wears pants that even the Norwegian curlers had in their closets in the 80’s.

And he is apparently the only guy you can find in Florida in March that is willing to throw out the first pitch of spring training in a World Series rematch.

You can’t find anyone better than John Daly.

C’MON! I know it’s spring training, but C’MON!!!
