Okay, who voted for Zach Randolph?
This is an ALL STAR GAME, the best players in the league and in the world for that matter should be showcased in this glamorous pickup game.
If the Pittsburgh Pirates don’t have a player good enough to compete with the best players in the league then why should he be allowed to play. The same holds true for the NBA and the Memphis Grizzlies. Anybody can get HIS on a scrub team.
Now back to what’s important, the actual game. Between the tenacity on the defensive end of the floor or foul that put the opponent at the line (3 times) or the recliner chair George Carl almost fell asleep in on the sideline; it was a good game. Yeah right.
Who won? Who cares.
Carl is actually Karl.
ReplyDeletePlus, the intentional foul at the end of the game by Deron Williams had to have Jerry Sloan's blood pressure rising - the star point guard of the Utah Jazz didn't even know the foul situation. Deron obviously didn't care too much about the game.
A pickup game in the middle of the year is about all it has become. The skill challenges like the 3-point shootout are interesting, but the dunk contest is about boring.
The NHL all star game has players trying to compete, even at the risk of injury. The NFL all star game is flag football and it is obvious that the players don't care. NFL football all star games will never realistically approach the real thing - better to have a AFC-NFC superstars competition like the old days.
Baseball is about the only worthwhile all-star game - pitchers are actually trying to strike out batters, fielders are trying to make plays, batters are trying to get hits, and, in general, players are actually trying. The NBA all star game only has about 5 minutes of defense at the end of the game.
I agree with this one - who cares.
You spelled Karl wrong.... epic fail
