What an extremely slow day in sports! Mr. Slowsky even called to complain.
The biggest news of the day wasn’t even really news. Dwight Freeney of the Colts MIGHT play in this Sunday’s Super Bowl versus the Saints. Can we even call this news? It’s more like vague rhetorical question.
It doesn’t matter though. It’s not like Mister Limpet is coming off the other side of the defensive line. Robert Mathis is; who has 9.5 sacks to his credit. The top three duos of sackers come from the Steelers, Colts and Vikings. Three of the most stout, deep defensive teams in the league. They have enough defense to cover him absence up, if he fails to play.
Plus Dwight is a gamer. He’ll find a way to be out on the field even with the stress on his ankle. It’s the Super Bowl for gosh sakes, you only get so many shots at winning the big one. Ask Dan Marino, he’ll tell you likewise.
I guess it’s not a bad thing that it’s a slow day in sports; at least nobody brought a gun into a locker room or something idiotic like that.
